FAQ

Frequently asked

Are AquaCert certifications officially recognized?

Yes. AquaCert is an authorized Lifesaving Society affiliate. All certifications are issued by the Lifesaving Society and recognized Canada-wide by municipalities, recreation centres, hotels, camps, and employers.

Which course should I take first?

Pool Operator 1 is the entry point for facility operations staff. Aquatic Supervisor is ideal for senior lifeguards stepping into leadership. Aquatic Manager is open to anyone in a facility management role — no aquatic background or prerequisites required. Contact us if you're unsure.

Do I need Pool Operator 1 before Pool Operator 2?

Yes. Pool Operator 2 builds directly on the knowledge from Pool Operator 1. You must complete Pool Operator 1 first.

Do certifications need to be renewed?

Aquatic Manager and Aquatic Supervisor certifications do not require recertification. Pool Operator 1, Pool Operator 2, and SEE Auditor must be renewed every 24 months.
